iBook Screen Problem

Just recently my screen will flicker and get all staticky, this often happens when have it in my hand or laying on my bed when it is not on a smooth flat surface. Then it freezes and I have to restart it by holding down the power button. Any advice. The completely freezes, I've only had it since Nov. Help. I really want to get this fixed ASAP bc my roommate just got a new Toshiba laptop and is always saying how great his computer is and how macs suck. And his wireless just went out, so I'm trying to prove to him that Macs are the way to go.
