Okay, I feel like a complete ignoramous, but a local coffee shop that I go to has wireless broadband connection running into some Dell laptops. My question, is it possible with airport to make use of this connection through my ibook??? I see other laptop pc users with wireless internet cards do this all the time.

Probably. There is a wireless frequenct that PC's use that airport dosn't pick up (802.11A) but it is not as popular. Sometimes coffee shops have a subscription service that you have to sign up /subscribe to. Although I have a pizza shop nearby that has a cable modem and wireles hub. No problem logging on.

It would be easiest to ask a worker about the network to see if there is a simple password or subscription-based service.
