Mail lost my mail!

OS X Mail seems to have lost all my email-using a .mac email address but my email has all disappeared and when I check preferences>accounts my .mac account has 'inactive' written beside it. checked webmail through .mac and my email is still there(and I had 2 new messages so my acccount must still be active). any ideas of what has happened and how I can fix it? running 10.2.6. only other thing I can think of is my hard disc was virtuallly full(I have now removed some mp3s to make space). thanks

    This has happened to me twice! To fix it open System Preferences. Click on Internet. Under the .Mac tab re-enter your ID and password. That's it.



    I don't know why it happens, but whenever it does my clock switches to 24 hour mode and turn off text smoothing switches to 10 instead of 8!
