    I refuse to click that link. Alternatives like MacUpdate exist for a good reason. That reason is VersionTracker.

    That said, eh, it's okay. This app certainly isn't "awesome" by any definition in my book, especially when I see how poorly localized it is. Half the app is in German; half is in English. Sure, it's a gimmicky distraction, but I can't see myself using it regularly.

    Frankly I don't know what your problem is. I think the service from version Tracker is second to none.

    Sounds cool, but if I'm doing work I'd rather not be distracted by it and have it use up resources (which I can imagine can get pretty bad). And if I'm not doing work, I might as well play a movie full screen. I really liked Backlight for a while, but it got distracting.

    Well I would be supprised if running Version Tracker isn't a full time job for at least one person. Trying to presuade visitors to subscribe is a small price to pay for a brilliant resource.
