Pro Tools - Mbox

I've been reading about Pro Tools and Mbox looks kind of interesting.

Is it a lesser expensive protable studio?

If there's anyone out there who knows anything about it please let me know!

I'd like to be able to record myself playing the piano or the guitar...

Be careful of that mBox. It goes over USB. Digital Audio over USB is a bad idea. The only thing about this interface is that it is portable. I have a MOTU 828 and I'm very pleased with it. 8 Ins and 8 outs. Compared to the 2 that the mBox offers. The 828 doesn't work with ProTools though. I prefer ProTools over DP but my work bought me an 828 so I can't complain. Why don't you just get a Digi 002. J/K.

    I use MBox. It rocks.

It certainly has limitations cause it's USB.

However, this thing really kicks ass!

The digi 002 Rack looks like it is great as well but for three times the money.

You just have to decide how "Pro" of an interface you need.

For some the MBox is just fine.

Others will need a Digi 002 Rack.

Either way you can't go wrong.
