How to turn on FileVault

In 10.3 I have security with the filevault icon in the system prefs, however I don't see an option to encrypt my home directory.
Any developers out there care to explain it more in detail and how to activate it.

im not a developer but didn't steve say u just trun it on with a check of a box?

Does file vault only work with your Home folder? I think that's what Steve said. Why?

Because that's all most people are concerned with protecting?
Most people aren't going to be concerned about encrypting some *other* user's files... or /System... or /Library...
