Hello, I need to network my PC with my Mac. But the catch is I have no ethernet card in the pc and I need a solution immediatly. Can I do it modem to modem? Im running 8.6 on the Mac and XP on the pc. Thanks in advance!

    Ummm.... yes, there is a way to modem connect the two computers... but it is needlessly troublesome. Why not go out and buy a network card? They are cheap (sub $15) and easy (plug n' play), plus you would get a much faster connection than a modem... BTW if you do want to use your modems you need two phone lines (one to dial up the other) and OS 8.6 can be tricky for dialup networking... just get a cheap network card, you will thank yourself later when you are swapping files with 100 megabits a second of bandwidth vs. just 56 kilobits. (Note that you will never reach the rated speed but you might get close)
