.Mac probing weird ports!?

At work I'm using a linux system and accessing .Mac using Webmail. When I'm doing this though, the computer's firewall is reporting hits from the .Mac servers. The source of the hits is port 443 (or whatever https is) and it's probing a cycling range of ports around 1455-1490. What is it trying to connect to and why? If it wants information, shouldn't it be talking to the webbrowser?

    Perhaps they are know ports.

I think RFC1340 lists port assignments.

    (or RFC1700)

There is now an online DB with these but I can't find it.
