GFX card question

I have a dual 450 G4 with it's stock card, the RAGE 128. Since I only have, and plan on using for the forseeable future, a VGA monitor, can I use the PC versions of the ATI cards? They are A LOT less expensive, but I'm curious if there would be driver issues. Thanks

It's probably a lot more trouble than it's worth. You would have to flash the ROM on specific PC cards as well as have drivers to make it work with a Mac. There is also a danger you could mess up the card and it will never work.

Yeah, you can flash the PC versions of the Radeon 7000 at least, as long as it's the version with the same type of RAM as the Mac card (DDR, I think).

However, the reason the PC card is so much less expensive is that you get so much less....the Mac card has TV-out, DVI out, and dual display support, while the PC card is limited to VGA out and one display.
