When you connect a monitor to the 12", is it restricted to 1024x768 or do I get the option of different resolutions?
I want to be retouching, but I'd rather do it on my 17" LCD instead of the laptops 12"
My monitor runs best at 1280x1024

You will get a full range of resolutions to choose from. Mine has no problem supporting up to 1600x1200.

Awesome...wow this makes me really happy, I was worried I would be limited but now have a giant smile on my face!
And I
can
close the screen while I have another monitor connected?
Also is it mirroring or spanning?
(sorry for all the questions, I just want to know what to expect)

It's spanning. I'm not sure about whether it works if you close the screen or not.

If you want to use the 12" PowerBook in closed screen mode, connect a mouse/keyboard before you close it.

There's a thread around here that has my 12" hooked up to a Sony 23" LCD. Full resolution on both
