Illustrator crashing and crashing and crashing

Ever single time I try to copy something out of illustrator into photoshop or indesign, I get a some error with pdf in the text and it just dies. Then photoshop says that it can't 'import the clipboard because the specified format is not in the edition.'

I checked permissions everywhere and reinstalled illustrator, but no luck. Any ideas?

10.2.6, and all the latest version of each program.

Damn. Repairing permissions would've been my first suggestion. After that, the only time I've ever had Illustrator crash for no reason is if I have FreeHand 10 or MX open. They hate each other.

Go into Illustrator prefs in the Files & Clipboad section and set the Clipboard to AICB and Preserve Appearance from the default PDF.

    That should fix your problem.

What he said. Go into /User/yourname/Library/Prefrences/ and delete all Illustrator prefs.
