very nice. I don't think apple will ever make anything that "bubbely", but still, very nice.

remember the first iBook? it was kind of bubbely wasn't it?

I don't know those old ibooks and powerbooks were pretty bubbly, and the puck mouse, was just a big bubble. Other than that dude sweet commercial. i wish I could get our agency to buy maya for me so I could figure it out. I went to school for 3d design but it was all 3d max. I hear lightwave is pretty cool on mac too.

That was awsome! You should submit it to this contest I saw on MacNN---&gt;<a href="http://www.macnn.com/news.php?id=18298"; target="_blank">Link</a>

I didn't bother looking for it on the Apple web site...but if you want to work for their design team this might be a great way to get noticed. It certainly grabbed my attention!

    Nice work...

You may want to think a little more about the presentation. I found the animation overall pretty nice but a little dizzying. Try to keep the camera a little more horizontal and slow it down.

Nice to see people using Maya on the mac! javascript:%20x()

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement and for those who gave critiques!

As for 'bubbley' look, no it is not really Apple's style anymore. But the design problem asked "If you had to hold a device like this for prolonged periods, would you want to have semi-sharp, non ergonomic edges?" Also, it is really a reflection of what I would like to see, fun, approachable and a deliberately "soft" bezel area.

For those who have been e-mailing me off this list. The tune is Art of Trance - Breathe featuring Caroline Lavelle!

Thanks again for your wonderful comments/suggestions!

mmm, verynice, thanks for putting me to shame. <a href="http://www.the-brices.demon.co.uk/webspace/iPad.jpg"; target="_blank">www.the-brices.demon.co.uk/webspace/iPad.jpg</a>

How long did that take to render? And what's your processor, as you can tell from my visual i'm not that good at shading... or modeling.

I like the bubbliness, it's more ergonomic, and well, interesting. But how big is this meant to be? I'm guessing that's an 80mm disk in the animation.
