wireless connection issues

I have a ti book 667 running 10.2.6. I have been having a problem where my airport conection indicator shows 2 out of 4 bars, but no web pages will load, and mail and ichat can't make their necessary connections. Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone have any solutions? Thanks.

    On my ghz ti I don't get anything if it is less than full reception. Download macstumbler to see the real signal strength (you will have to enable ssid broadcast again for a second to see it) and you will notice that it is really low when you have less than 4 bars.
