I know there are a million of these posts out there, but I wanna present things my way. Here are my predictions:

Within a week:

iPod software

Powerbook upgrades (speed bumps)

new iBooks... possibly in the form of tablets

Within a couple months:

Powerbook G5's (it IS the year of the laptop)

By the end of the year:

Panther

30 inch displays

Price drops all over the place

By March 2004:

Speed bumps: Dual 2.5 Ghz G5's

Summer 2004:

G5 cube, iMac, or eMac

No, actually all i've read is people b****ing about how they dont have their g5's, and that apple wont come through with "the year of the laptop"
  • Reply 3 of 26
Panther by the end of the year is not a predicton.

It is Apple's stated schedule for the next release.

Those are nuttier and more out-to-lunch than Dr. Holistic's insane list of "10 Paris Predictions!" from a few weeks ago.

They fall - in the case of the iBook tablets and 30" display and PowerBook G5 by year's end" - into the "are you on crack?" category (we just went nearly a year with no PowerBook activity...and now, suddenly, Apple is going to release new, long-awaited G4 PowerBooks next week AND spiffy new G5 PowerBooks 2 months later?)

Or - in the case of "Panther by year's end and 2.5GHz G5 updates by March 2004" - into the "well, no shit! Tell us something we don't know" category.

    Within a week:

    iPod software no

    Powerbook upgrades (speed bumps) no

new iBooks... possibly in the form of tablets no

    Within a couple months:

Powerbook G5's (it IS the year of the laptop) doubtful

By the end of the year:

I understand that you are new, so welcome! But this kind of topic as you may have noticed has been done before and is a fast way to get people's back's up.

I'm a noob to these forums too but damn if I have a hell of a lot more common sense than to post even more idiotic predictions about something that's been beat up over and over again.

And yes I posted a prediction in another thread, but I did not START one.

    Facts, not rumors (?!?!?):

i Tunes for PC in late October (U.S).

    Powerbook Upgrades next week

    iBook Upgrades the week after

Panther released in November. (Free upgrades to those who have purchased G5s and the new upcoming Powerbooks.)

    More unsubstantiated rumors
  • Reply 19 of 26
I thought Apple was planning to release Panther on Oct 3 or 10/3 (10.3)
