Help! floppy disk suddenly unformated
Hi guys, I hope the Mac community is more helpful than the windows folks.
I have a floppy disk where most of my term papers and stories are kept. I've got lots of important stuff on there so I take good care of this disk. Thats why I was so surprised that on slipping my disk into my laptop, it suddenly won't open and says the disk is Unformated and would i like to format it now. I have no idea why! Will formating the disk erase all my files?
Any help you can give would be very, very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance
ps. i know i'm an idiot for not backing up. Also for having this stupid cheap backstabbing toshiba for 2 years.

It sounds like you've had your data corrupted... something that's easy to do on a floppy disk.
Yes, Formatting it will cause everything to be lost. You could try running something like Norton on it and see if any data can be recovered.
Good luck... it sucks to lose any data (and time) of any sort.
