Your printer recommendations
Well, I ran a search and got some good leads, but feel compelled to start a new thread about printers nonetheless.
I'll soon be picking up a Powerbook (whenever the Alu15's are released
) for myself, and the updated iMac for the family (unless I crumble and get a G5). I'll be needing a single printer for both systems.
Currently, we've been using an Epson 777i, a nice enough low-end printer, but I'm convinced that the money I originally saved in buying cheap has been lost several times over in ink consumption.
What I'm looking for is a good mid-level inkjet printer, fast and quiet, mostly for page printing but can turn out a nice photo, too, that doesn't abuse its ink privileges. I don't need a top-of -the-line laser, nor a bottom-of-the-heap cheapie. I'm thinking the $200-$400 range.
