Toast & XSVCD

I have some files which are saved as XSVCDs. Whenever I try to burn these files to VCDs the result is always audio which is out of sync with the video. I've tried to convert the files to a number of other formats, but so far nothing has worked. Does anyone know how to get XSVCDs to burn to a VCD using toast? What would be even better would be burning them to DVDs, anyone have ideas on that?
