Kicking Ass

I've got to mention that I'm disappointed with the Democratic Party sinking to the Republican level by calling their official weblog "Kicking Ass". It's a dumb, arrogant name that reflects the dumb arrogance of so many Americans that so many of us liberals are trying to distance ourselves from.

BREAKING NEWS:The average Democrat isn't liberal, and the average Republican isn't conservative.

You want to be a true liberal? Join the Socialist party.

You're complaining about a catch-phrase. Jeez. That's like complaining about protesters not coming up with any original chants since the 60s.

Nah don't join those clowns TonTon. Join the moderate movement. It's the only whose majority is capable of thinking over an issue without impulsively supporting or knocking a given position. Moderates rule!

Whats socialism got to do with liberalism?

    Liberal

    # Not limited to or by established, traditional, orthodox, or authoritarian attitudes, views, or dogmas; free from bigotry.

    # Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.

    Socialism

    # Any of various theories or systems of social organization in which the means of producing and distributing goods is owned collectively or by a centralized government that often plans and controls the economy.

In fact what has being liberal got to do with being a Democrat? Surely there are many liberal Republicans...

Those are the "so-called moderates", not the authentic, always-thinking moderates. Maybe I should start a grass-roots push for a fourth party (I'm being nice and considering Libertarian a "party"): introducing the "Authentic, Always-Thinking Moderates" party!

Geeze... some people are so serious...

You do know the Donkey is the Symbol of the Dem. party... it's a fightback/not take the rights bullsh!t anymore attitidue... with a little humor.

It's hard for independants to identify with what democrats and liberals have been putting up with for 20 years...

we don't hate america... we're not immoral heathens... and we're not elitist...

Are we expected to raise the level of debate in this country while the right keeps beating the same drum?

We're not stooping to their level... but we're not gonna take it anymore either.

    Have some fun!

Dick Gephardt released "Gephardt Remix," an important musical addition to a Democratic nomination fight.

Gephardt, who will be honored at grassroots house parties across America on September 30, 2003, also invited others to send their own musical entries. Qualifying songs will be added to the Gephardt House Party website.

"Gephardt Remix" was made by Mike Gustafson of Fort Dodge, IA. If you would like to send your entry, simply email a short 1-2 minute original song to [email protected].

Maybe it was Steve Jobs and Jon Rubinstein's influence on Al Gore.

"This is one kick-ass machine," stated Jon Rubinstein, embarrassedly.

    Contextually...

tonton's complaining about a party behaving in a fashion which isn't 'liberal' enough. On average, the Socialist platform features more liberal concepts, do you agree?
