I have a locked Excel 2001 Mac file. Nobody seems to have locked it , yet Excel is prompting me for a password to modify the file. How can I "break" the protection and unlock it?

1.) Check permissions - If they are OK and the gremlins have actually locked the file as read only.. then proceed to step 2.

    2.) Select All

    3.) Copy

    4.) New document

    5.) Paste

6.) Save As - Use same name as original (after you have closed the other excel window)

    7.) Admire MS security!

    Note:

You might wanna check the options and/or use "pase special" from the menu to make sure you get the cell formulae, and not just the values.
