Script Sleep?

Anyone know a way to sleep just the display when i want too? as right now i have to turn it on in energy saver and put it to 1 min to put it on when i want....if i hit sleep and it's downloading my modem disconnects from the net and all of the computer goes to sleep.



Is there a app or script one can help me with to put only the display to sleep in os x when i want too? anyone?

    What machine do you have? I assume it's a 'Book, yes?

    No i have a dual 867Mhz G4 with a Sony Trinitron display...all i want is a simple script or app that lets me sleep only the display when i want too with out needing to go to the system prefs all the time

    If you have just a solid black image in your pictures folder you can set the screen affects to "Pictures folder" and under hot corners you can select a corner to put the mouse when you want the screen to turn blank. It won't turn OFF the screen, just turn it black.

    Well, if you have a Triniton display, why don't you just turn this off? I mean it sure has it's own power key, no?
