Active Directory Home Folders

So, my high school's file server is on Active Directory , and everyone has an account

Now, is it going to be so simple in Panther that I can use my login and have Panther open up my share, copy a basic home folder for me and then I can login from any iMac?

Or,

is it that a I have to be logged into a Mac, and then I connect to the file server, and it is just some place for me to store my stuff?

thanks, I set up Jaguar on about 12 computers last year and they have not gotten much use because no one has a password and log in for them, because we do not have the divine pleasure of having a Mac OS X server, only a Windows server

I posted a similar rant in another thread, but yes - you should be able to do this more so in Panther. They key is setting up LDAP in Directory Access (Utilities folder) to connect to the active directory share.

    Good luck!
