Allowing a single device (Pocket PC) through the OS X firewall
I'm using a Toshiba e750 Pocket PC with a G5 and the Missing Sync software. By default the software won't work with the built-in Mac firewall, but, in looking through the Missing Sync mailing list I found out which port you need to open up.
I did this, but now I'm wondering if there is any way, via the Terminal I'd assume, to allow only my Pocket PC to use that port for even greater security. Maybe via the PPC's MAC address? If it is any help, when the software mounts the PPC on the desktop it shows up as a WebDAV volume.
Paging Torifile perhaps? (Nice CAB site by the way...what's it with us grad students ending up with Pocket PCs and a Mac
