iChat AV streaming w/ IPFW

Everyone says iChat works fine w/ NAT routers like linksys and whatnot but I can't find anyone talking about iChat streaming and the software that apple uses for its routing - I can of course stream to my computers on my own network but I can't stream with anyone on the internet



I have a G3 tower w/ 10.2.8 as my router connected to a netgear hub and an iMac that I want to stream from sitting behind it - I've looked around and can't find any specific information regaurding these two specific items...Anyone got an idea on how to fix it?

    I believe that iChat uses port 5298 to communicate. You'll just need to open a hole in your firewall for that port, or in your case, turn on address forwarding. I don't have a router, so I don't know the specifics, but maybe someone else will be able to help you out a little more.
