Safari not working with web site

Okay, installed panther, which includes update to Safari. Last four times I've tried to go to ESPN.com I end up with the spinning color wheel and unable to do anything with safari. Can't click on any menu's or back or forward or in the address bar. This goes on a while(longest I've let it go is about 4 minutes or so) and I have to click into finder and force quit from apple menu. It isn't one particular place on the site. I can get front page open fine, but try and click on an article and it goes spinning. I use tabs too, and can't click over to whatever other website I have open. Suggestions, input? Thanks.

The problem is most likely bad JavaScript. I've never heard of plain old HTML crashing Safari, but I know JavaScript can. Unless they're using ASP, which I've seen crash even IE(ok, so it was once).

    www.espn.com works fine here... Panther, Safari 1.1, G5 1.8
