Implemented In Software Update... What About Safari?

Hello all,

I was pleased to find a new feature in Apple's Software Update application under Panther. I installed the latest security updates, to find that Software Update has implemented pausable downloads.

I would love to see this in Safari, but as yet no luck. I would also, at the same time, like to have a download, and resume it next time Safari boots up and I tell it to resume.

This would be such a relief.

What do you think?

Edit: Sorry, "Both 2 and 3 above" should read: "Both 1 and 2 above". m.

Neither really. Via HTTP, no. The protocol's not supposed to support it.

It would be nice to see both as well as a 'save to' location.

Yes... I so agree... Why can I not name my download BEFORE I click to begin the download to a location which can be set (thanks...)??? At least, it could be an option in the preferences also.

Why do I have to use Safari? It's all there...
