I bought the Televio card but haven't installed it yet because I'm not sure about using it with Panther... anyone experience it yet?

also, I'm wondering if its' going to conflict with the Revolution 7.1 sound card being delivered to me soon.

any help much appreciated...

my goal is to digitize older VHS tapes

I'm using the Televio card under Panther. No problem so far.

    I tried it on Panther.

I must have a defective card because everything else works great.

The sound does not work except for the FM radio.

    any suggestions?

I've tried different settings for 3 hours now! I'm using a VCR with composite video and bought a Y splitter from Radio Shack for the audio.

hmm.. did it work under Jaguar?

The current software for Televio is 1.7.1.

Plug all the cable in first and startup the Mac.

Same results in Jaguar as I tried it in my other drive. I had the plugs in and tried to replug everything too.

Is it picky as to unplugging and plugging cables?

I'm at a lost as to why no sound is coming out.

I have a speaker system plugged in too and I've tried it in the audio in on the Televio card and also in the mac's sound output.

well.. I sometimes got the sound being cut off when I switched channel quickly, I have to reboot my machine to get it back.

Meanwhile, my setup is the following.

TV antenna and the remote cable plugged in.

Televio-> Preference-> Sound..->Internal (on Sound output) and Televio TV tuner (Source).

What other audio/video you were using at that time? It may be the cause. Do you have an iSight?

I plugged in my speaker on the G4's sound out port.

I noticed that the remote cable needs to be plugged in before turning the G4 on in order to get the remote to work.

lastly, do you see a TV card/Televio under the Apple System Profile?

Panther doesn't see the card. I'll have to start up in Jaguar since I uninstalled it all in Panther already.

ooops, all my responses are above..

EVerything works fine now in Panther.

I needed a different sound adapter for the audio cable going in to the card.

Now if I can get iMovie and iDVD to stop crashing!

    thanks for all the help
