Temp Monitor software question

I downloaded temperature monitor from

Anyway, it downloaded onto my desktop and I can't move the icons around. I'm trying to move them into applications folder but I only get an alias with the original staying on the desktop. Would rather not clutter my desktop if possible. Is there a way to move the icons off the actual desktop into a folder under the harddrive and have them not show up as an alias? Thanks.

    Under the Temperature menu there are the options for how it is displayed.

    I know there is preferences there. I'm talking about the actual icon on the desktop, not how the temp. is displayed. Thanks.
