and Murbot (i think) was right about iMac shipping today....weeeeee...hope mine ships today...g

    When did the Power Mac lose a RAM slot? :confused:



    My brother's DP G4/500 has 512 MB in each of his 4 RAM slots.

    I think in the revision right after your brother's DP G4/500. Can't remember the name of it...Digital Audio, maybe?



    Still, I didn't think that the 4-RAM-slot PMs could use more than 1.5 GB of RAM?

    Well, he has 2 GB installed and the OS recognizes it, so I'm not sure. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    i think OS X is ok with it, but I believe that Mac OS 9 can only recognise up to 1.5Gb and can only allocate up to 999Mb to an Application.



    But I may be wrong, that's just from what I can vaguely remember.

    Yeap those G4s with four RAM slots can take 2GB of RAM under OS X



    I used to have that much and I can tell you that WAS sweet

    Hey, I actually kind of predicted something! Cool...



    Well, I did also say we were getting new iBooks before MWSF and people didn't agree...



    Man I can't wait for this thing to get here!!
