Is the Stock harddrive G4 MDD IGHZ changeable?

Hi,



I read that firmware prevents the G4 MDD stock hardrive from being swapped for a bigger hardrive. The MDD will only work with the stock harddrive that came with the computer or a replacement from Apple.





Is that the case ?

    I didn' replace it, but the G4 MDD has 4 drive bays. I added two more drives ( A Seagate Barracuda and an older IBM) without any problems. I would only check to select drives that won't get too hot, as the MDD is a bit "cooling challenged"...
