shipping a cd burner

i'm slling a cd burner on ebay. now i don't recall if it came with anything in the drive to prevent damge during shipping.



do i need to put something in there?



it's an external Plextor burner if that matters

    i heard back from Plextor. i guess i don't need to have anything in the drive but i could put an old disc in if i want

    Yeah, it's always good to ship the drive with something in it. I remember years ago when you bought a Mac, Apple would give you a solid plastic piece in the shape and size of a disk so that you could insert in into the drive when you wanted to move your computer around. It was supposed to prevent damage. I would just put a blank CDR in there and give your buyer a bonus, it'll increase your feedback ratings and won't cost you more than a few cents.
