Apple isn't good at math!

I was making my first visti to an apple store yesterday at the Tigard, OR location and happened to be looking at the decorations of the store.

I don't know exactly what other locations are like, but on one wall there is a picture of a chalkboard with some math on it, a porblem on integration to be exact.

A breif glance at it just bugged me, not because I hate math, but because the way it was worked just didn't seem right.

After looking at it for a few minutes, I saw that they did the problem wrong!

The problem was ?(x^2-x^(-1))dx

In one of the next steps it became x^2/2 + 2x somethin somethin.

The x^2/2 can't be gotten from this problem any way I see it.

I'll try and get some pictures if I go back over.

    Isn't the correct result 1/3x^3-ln|x| ?

I am happy to stay away from maths now. I use to be a math major when i was 17(the equivalent in France) and i worked math 20 hours per week. I spent so many hours in mah that i am disguted for ever.

Wow, I must suck at math worse than I thought. This is the most confusing thread ever. I know plus, minus, multiply, and divide...but thats about my extent of math knowledge. Pretty sad for an 18 year old

That would be the correct answer.

I'm going to send a complaint to the store about it.
