Best consumer DV tape?

Which type of DV tape has the best quality, DVC Pro, or Mini DV? Is there anything better than this? Also, what would you recommend for a type of brand of tapes. Sony, panasonic, etc... Thanks much

    Mini DV is awesome. Brand shouldn't matter.

    Is that better than DVC pro? The whole pro thing has me mixed up.

    As long as you're talking about sony DVCassette Mini-DV tapes and not DVC-Pro (which is another format with physically larger cassettes) then the above poster is pretty much right. As long as you get a name you've heard of, you should be OK. The picture quality and such is going to depend on your camera, lighting, and skill. The quality of the tape itself pretty much only effects it's lifetime. If you have bad tape or your heads need cleaning, it'll be obvious. One of the good/bad things about digital media is that you either have picture or you don't.
