Calling all TiBook owners & smart people
Damn it I lost a Mhz, don't you hate when that happens? This came across my mind after I bought it but I could not prove it. I guess my computer is haunted and apple didn't want to scare anyone away. Kinda funny

Not necessarily. It's very common to have the multiplier/CPU clock off by a little. You can check with Gauge Pro (it's on my iDisk...radar1503) to see the actual clocks. My G4 400 is actually at 398.6MHz or so.

Yeah, and my iBook's 499.6 MHz

It was WOZ who set that price on the original Apple 1. He said it was not intended to be a joke, just happened to use that price. Strange.

That is not the sort of publicity that Apple wants, know what I mean? Threaten to go to the media if they don't do anything about it.

Run the benchmarks.
A 667 MHz PowerBook should get ~7 million keys/sec with the crunch-vec-7450 RC5 core.

Eugene nailed it on this one. It's the old, old software. NewerTech went out of business before the 667G4 even came out.
It's the software.
Did you hear me? None of these products correctly identify MPC745x/MPC744x processor speeds.

I just want to be 100% sure, thanks for dealing with me bitching and moaning, its just I hate to think my 667 is only 400, yah know?
