Sticky a "software essentials" thread

There are several good threads out there with some great information about essential software. Maybe we could sticky one of them?



I was thinking about this thread because it's got decent descriptions of the software suggested and links to them in most posts. It could be like the GB FAQ that we've got. Only include posts relevant to exceptional software. Any thoughts?

    Good idea, but maybe start another thread for it. This one has too many pointless replies and stuff like that. The FAQ thread in GB is just that, an FAQ, no responses or other questions from anyone. I think a new thread should be started where each reply has to have the name of a piece of software (or multiple pieces of software) as well as links where it can be obtained.

    what, the list is SubEthaEdit, Sherlock, and what else is really needed theses days that Apple does not provide? maybe VLC Player and OmniGraffle?
