uncooperative cursor jumps to corner when using wireless Logitech mouse

I am using a wireless Logitech mouse on my Titanium PowerBook. When using the mouse, the cursor will jump to the corner periodically and it is getting annoying as it is my screensaver activation corner. Yes, I know a quick fix is to switch corners, but if anyone has any ideas on how to correct my misbehaving mouse I would be appreciative.

    Hows the batteries? As they run down the tracking can become less precise.

    Thank you very much for your reply. I had never thought about that but will have to see if the situation improves with new batteries.
