Do new iMacs support OS 9.x?

The only OS supported on the new iMacs is OSX.

    I'm not sure where you got that information on the page, but you can run the new iMacs in OS 9. Apple default boots into OS X now but you can use 9 if you want to.

    Any Mac sold by Apple that has OS X has OS 9 on it too.

    If the iMacs didn't support OS 9 it would be very stupid. It's still needed for Classic.

    OS X 10.1 includes OS 9.x. That is implied. And if you are ultra paranoid, I've booted into OS 9.2.2 from an iMac before.

    Yes all the new Apple machines will boot 10.1.2 or 9.2.2.

    All new Apple machines as of February 2002 boot into 10.1.2 or 9.2.2. I'm fairly certain that Apple willl get rid of the Classic Environment by 2003. I expect the next update of the PowerMacintosh line to be OS X-only.
