Are the PB's HD's good for FCP?

Are the Hard drives for the current PowerBooks good (fast enough) for doing DV work in Final Cut Pro?

    The 5400 rpm 8MB cache version is, works nicely for me!

    Throw a 7200RPM IBM Travelstar 7K60 in there and you'll be thrilled.

    I can't remember what I got on my 15 AL PBook... know of a way to check?

    I've used the default 4200 drive in mine for DV work pretty extensively and it's never let me down.

    I don't know but my new 15" AlBook just went in for the third hard drive. First was a Hitachi, second was a Fujitsu and third... I am still waiting to see.

    The apple system profiler will tell you the brand, not the speed though.

    Click the apple menu and select about this mac, then click the more info button. From the left column select ATA (its in the hardware section).



    This is on panther. Its in the system profiler in Jag, but i think there is a tab instead of the list in the column.
