Can I install a PCI card Backwards in my 9600? The card looks like it can be reversed ( ___ ____________ ___) that's what the conntector looks like on the card ( ___ _________________) that's what the slot on the computer looks like. Could I just turn the card around.

P>S it's a ATA HD Controller.

that, unfortunately, would make it an ICP card, which wouldn't work.

I was just about to ask what an ICP card was... then I got it.

I am a little slow on the draw today.

If the card looks like a backwards PCI, then it is probably an AGP video card, and you can't use it on the older computer.

The lab results just came back. Thank God, I'm not AGP positive!

At any rate... regardless of what you might possibly do with the card physically, there's only going to be one way that the card will work. The reverse will almost certainly fry the card and the motherboard. PCI cards are NOT made to be flippable!
