I want to take a "winter" abroad in australia... but the winter is split in half by semesters and the christmas break...
what is the school system broken up into down under?
You'd love it here Paul, plenty of migratory birds sweep in from siberia and other cold northern climes. ( I won't mention the other types of " birds " in case you get all steamed up )
Universities & colleges are on term break now, as are primary and high schools. Most start the summer break in the middle of December and go back in early February. Universities commence semesters in March.
If your a teacher, you might want to apply for a temp posting. I am sure there is various reciprocal arrangements between the USA & AUS.
i'm wearing a face mask two layers of serious socks and three pants and 7 shirts. today only the tips of my fingers got cold. i had neoprene and wool gloves on, but it still didn't quite work.
I'm not saying where I am, but it's dark now, early evening, and it's 72 degrees Fahrenheit. It's spring here already, and my heart is filled with joy. (I live in the USA.)

Hottest town in Oz I believe. Also recently a town with no pub if news reports are true - damn liquor licensing people!
Aquafire - you were kidding about 150, right?

That leaves southern Arizona, southern Florida, or Hawaii. Hmmm... I'm guessing Arizona since it's early evening...
