Can't you just launch the EpsonPU App? I'm running a C84 and a...(damn, I forget the other model)...both fine in Panther.

What program are you printing out of that you can't see the PU?

Do you click on printers in the system preference panel, then configure, then utilities, while the 740 is selected down below?

I have done both of these:

I have even opened the Epson Software from the Library/printers folder

as well as go through System Preferences . . .

perhaps I need to download a new version of the printer software?!?!?!

    I'l try it . .

I tried that and that didn't work either

i found some threads online where people had the same problem, the only solution I came across ws to reboot into OS-9

nedless to say that is very unsatisfying . . .

When you installed Panther, did you do a 'custom' install? There were about a bazillion Epson drivers listed there, not all clicked on for auto-install.

[edit]: According to Epson the driver *should* be on the OSX CD. \

I hate shit like this as much as you, bro.

    OK!

    Here's the fix:

1st, downlaod teh Epson package#2 from the PantherInstall DVD disk 3

    then

go to System/Library/Printers/Utilities and Double click to open the Epson Printer Utilities from here, otherwise it will still be grayed-out in Printer-Set-Up

Then you can make an alias and save it on the Dock and in th eUtilies folder . . . .
