Formac Studio Issues

I am running a Formac Studio with the Formac OS X version 2 software on my new iMac. I want to record the new X-Files tonight so I would like some quick input if possible.

The Studio won't scan for channels; in the quick window pop it says it's scanning for channel C1 and then it goes away. I have tried both the TV and Radio connections and neither will do the trick. The cable is split with my cable modem and that works so I am running to you guys for ideas.

Otherwise I will have to bite my nails and see 'IF' my crappy PC will record it again (usually it crashes halfway through.) <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

Probably too late to help but I haven't had a problem with it scanning channels, on the other hand I don't have cable. Why not record to tape then digitize it later?

is your cable signal "scrambled"? like do you have a "cable box" if so , you need to send THAT signal to the formac box and the "scrambled" signal should go to the cable modem...

We have one cable box but the rest run standard cable. The Pinnacle Card in my old PC took it fine but I don't know why this one won't work. As much response as I get from it is power from the bus, sometimes the iMac tells me it isn't there when it is (error message 01.) I'll probably end up giving Formac a hollar and see what they come up with.

BTW the PC worked tonight and didn't crash (thank god)
