I just bought a new iBook with 10.3 and was wondering if it's possible connect to my old crappy P-suck with Windows ME via crossover cable and transfer my needed files to the iBook without having to purchase specific software?

Thanks!

Should be no problem, but I'm not sure about how good it will work with ME. Thats an old OS! Connect the two computers together with the cable and look for your PC in the Network window. Either that or press apple+k on the desktop and type in your PC's IP address. You should be able to transfer whatever you need than.

Thanks a lot! I'll give it a try. Now I just need to find my cross-over cable.

    No crossover cable required!

Your iBook can use a regular ethernet cable and switch appropriately.

    Explained here.
