PCI video card in PCI slot in an AGP Dual/500 question?
PCI card in PCI slot in an AGP Dual/500 question?
I have a Dual 500 G4 AGP and what I want to know is if I get a PCI card that is better than the AGP card would it perform as well as an AGP card of the same caliber?
Should I stick with using the PCI slot for a simple Palette monitor rather than use it as my main monitor card?
Please respond if you have any ideas . . . .\

Mods, can ypou move this please?
I think the bus alone, on AGP is better.. so it should be the best way to go, no matter what..
Correct me if I am wrong?
it can stay here unless someone objects.

You can certainly do stuff with pci radeons, a pci radeon 7000 is probably better than, say, an AGP rage 128, but higher AGP cards will be a lot better.
What do you do in Pittsburgh?
I was there for two years

'burgh reunion ! I been here for 15 years (moved from Cleveland)
I have both a AGP Radeon and a PCI Radeon in my dual 500
As far as my limited understanding AGP allows the card to use main RAM for some stuff including Quartz Extreme, and good for gaming I suppose, but In my usage I can't tell any difference.
