TCP/IP Intanet and connectivity

In my french universitary hospital,computers "techs" want to get a whole 'Mac user" eradication: I quote...
So in hospital, I do still have a power PC G3 (RAM 68Mb) (Mac OS 8.2) and intranet connection , but probably for .... a short time.
I know: my IP adress, router,proxy server,server,and domain server' parameters.
Considering I am not" E.T. " :-)
I am searching about internet connection advice in order to switch Hospital proxy and so get autonomy.
