iPod First Gen Compatibility

in iPod + iTunes + AppleTV edited January 2014
I did several searches but nothing came up with what I wanted to know. Will a first gen 10 gig work on windows with iTunes? and what features are missing from the first gen, getting a good deal on one, 50 dollars.

    Good question. My educated guess would be yes, if you were to reformat the drive with Apple's iPod software for Windows. Before iTunes for Windows, iPods used MusicMatch.



    Edit: I think that the 10 gig was actually the second generation w/ the trackpad wheel. The first generation were only 5 gig.

    The first gen 10giger will work fine with windows. As stated above, just update the software with the windows updater.
