GIG DIMM's for iMac G4?

Several vendors (listed at the Ramseeker site) list 1 GIG DIMM's for the iMac G4. Does anybody know if they will actually work? And, of course, if the iMac will recognize the, say, 1.5 GIG that they would give if stuck in one with 512 MB in the "inside" slot?
