Do you consider these types of files documents or images?

Are projects from InDesign/Quark docuemnts?

Are images from Illustrator pictures or documents?

Huh? What does it matter? They're all documents. Some people would call them pictures. Then again, some people would call web pages pictures.

InDesign and Quark files are certainly documents. It is probably debatable whether or not Illustrator files are images. I tend to think of them as documents, but then again I think of all images as documents as well...

InDesign and Quark primarily "reference" images. In Illustrator you are creating vector artwork (though you can have bitmap images in the Illustrator file as well).
