reinstall ichat (not AV)
How can I reinstall ichat? I'm using Mac OSX.2.8 and have had the 2.0 beta installed. since it wasn't Windows compatible and the 2.1 beta is only for panther users, I wanted to have ichat back to text-chat with AIM. I've tried to revert back, but it didn't work. Ichat doesn't load now.
This is what I've done:
- revert back in ichatAV't menu (didn't work)
- repaired permissions (didn't help)
- removed cache and preference files (didn't help)
- logged in as root and delete ichat including it's related files.
Now I wanted to reinstall ichat from the OSX intall CD using "Pacifist", but ichat doesn't load completely. It only shows me the inicial setup-wizard but doesn't start ichat after this. So I have deleted everything related to ichat again.
How can I install ichat now? is there a installer I didn't see on apple's homepage? (please give me a link)
I hope I do not have to install the whole OS just because of ichat.

why not jsut keep AV 2.0 installed and only use the text feature?
IchatAV is only free with panther. my copy stopped working about two months ago and I won't buy it for 30$.
Which files do I exactly do have to install from the os x restore CD. I've tried to install all together, but it didn't work.
Would it work if I made an archive and install?
