Apple wireless mouse not waking up

Hello. I just bought the apple bluetooth optical mouse the other night. It's awesome. but there is a small problem I hope someone here can help me out with. when the mouse is on, and you put the computer to sleep, the mouse's optical lights will shut off. so it's like, ok, it's saving power. But when I wake my computer up, the mouse doesn't turn on. I would have to flip the switch to off, then to one to wake it up again. Is there anything that I can do to wake the mouse up afterwards? without having to turn it off then on again?

How long are you giving it? Mine takes 5-10 seconds to wake up. Wake the computer up, click the mouse, then wait 5-10 seconds before the lights come on and it's working. Same with the keyboard.

Most of the time it's 5 seconds or less, but sometimes it takes its sweet time.

hmm... it'll only wake up again if I click the mouse RIGHT as the computer whirles up. Any second later and it won't start up... should I try gettting a replacement?
