Yes, you can use PC NVidia Card on a Mac. However, some PC cards need to have their Firmware flashed. In order to flash a PC card, you'll need a PC, and Mac Roms. Also note, that this voids the warranty, but will save you lot's of money when you consider how much Apple charges for their NVidia cards at the Apple Store.
I just wanted to point out that the GeForce Ti series have not been sucessfully flashed - You want the original, plain old GeForce3 if you want it to work in your Mac (Not MX, not Ti, etc.).
I've had a GF3 in my G4/533DP for well over a year and it's great.
This is interesting, so not buying an iMac or eMac because the graphics are not upgradeable is foolish, since the G4 towers aren't very upgradeable either? Not one Nvidia card out there that will not void a warranty or possibly screw up the computer? I went to Apples web store and didn't see a Nvidia Card available at all. What Apple should really do is make the low end 32 Mb Nvidia card available for $100 for all who can use it.

Most of the time, Apple Towers ship with good hardware, so upgrading isn't really an issue until a year or two down the line. The newest PowerMacs for example come with GeForce 4 MX or Radeon 7500 (which is actually quite a bit better than it's PC Equivelant), compare this to new top end Sony machines that are shipping with 3 year old TNT2 cards.
The reason you dont find these cards on the Apple Store website is that the Apple Store website pretty much only sells systems and a few accessories (and now they sell a lot of software), not so much upgrades. If you need or want to upgrade your video card, go down to your nearest mac reseller and they will have something for you.
